Located in the northern section of the Marais District of central Paris (3rd Arrondissement), this well appointed apartment is good value as it is centrally located, newly furnished, and very reasonably priced.
The apartment is located on the 1st European floor, (one flight of stairs; no elevator) and looks out onto the front courtyard- quiet location as the apartment is on a small dead-end street, thus no traffic.
The apartment is compact at approximately 520 square feet. There are two bedrooms (one bedroom is a good sized room with a Queen bed, large dresser, armchair and bookshelves; the second bedroom is smaller with 2 single beds and dresser). There is a spacious living room with fireplace, sofa, armchairs, cable TV, dining table and chairs. Off the living area is a separate small kitchen, recently renovated with stove top, small fridge, microwave, coffee maker, a clothes washer/dryer unit and all the basic kitchen necessities. The bathroom is compact and includes white porcelaine sink, toilet and shower area. The kitchen includes a microwave, stove-top burners, a small fridge, a washer-dryer unit .
The apartment is clean and well appointed, ideal for a small family or group visiting Paris, or even for 2 persons wanting the privacy of separate bedrooms. The furnishings are relatively recent, with firm beds (2 single beds in the smaller bedroom and a queen bed in the second, larger bedroom). There is a good quality sleeper sofa, which can sleep two.
This apartment includes flat screen cable television, DVD player and also wireless internet access. For an additional 25 Euros flat fee, you also have the possibility to make UNLIMITED outgoing telephone calls during your entire stay, to any fixed telephone (not to cell or portable phones) anywhere in Europe, USA, Canada, Australia, NZ, Singapore, Brazil. If you do not take this option, you can still receive all incoming calls and make outgoing local calls within Paris.
The apartment can comfortably accommodate from 2 to 6 persons, providing excellent value per person, given the central location of the apartment.
Area
The Square du Temple apartment is within the historic central section of Paris: within 10 minutes on foot you are in the heart of the Marais (Picasso and Carnevalet Museums, Place des Vosges, and other major architectural attractions primarily from the 17th and 18th centuries). Also within walking distance is the Pompidou/Beaubourg Centre, Place de la Republique, and Les Halles and the Hotel de Ville (Paris City Hall). The nearest metro stops are Temple and Republique.
The Square du Temple apartment is located on a small, private, dead-end street, thus there is very little traffic. The street is not 'fancy', but it is quaint, quiet, and includes traditional Parisian apartments as well as workshops from the 1800's which have recently be converted into private residences, art galleries/studios and architectural firms. Walk two blocks to the centre of the neighbourhood to Square du Temple Park (good for children and a leisurely stroll) and the Rue Bretagne, where locals do all their shopping in the traditional bakeries, fruit and vegetable shops.
