Description
A comfortable two bedroom apartment, well suited for a small family or group visiting Paris. This apartment is very well situated, as you can not be more central in Paris than Place des Victoires in the 1st Arrondissement (the apartment is one block from Place des Victoires). From your doorstep, you are at the Louvre Museum in around 5 minutes on foot, and in under 10 minutes you are at the Seine River, crossing onto the Islands to visit Notre Dame. All major attractions in the center of Paris are thus within easy walking distance.
This apartment is in a typical 19th century Paris building, and offers guests high standards in an excellent location at a reasonable nightly rate. The apartment is situated on the European second floor serviced by an elevator. The apartment faces both the street and courtyard; the street (Rue Herold) is small with little traffic and no noise problem. This apartment is quiet.
The apartment, at 45 square meters (approx. 490 sq. feet), is compact like most central apartments in Paris, but sufficiently large to accomodate 3 to 6 persons.
There is an entry way with the bathroom to the left (bath/shower, toilet, sink) while straight ahead leads to the main living area. The bedrooms are off to the right from the entry and living area, one facing the courtyard and the other the street. The windows have double glazing. One bedroom has a queen sized bed, while the second smaller bedroom has two single beds and the living area also has a sofa bed that sleeps two. All beds, including the sofa bed, are rrecent and of good quality ensuring a good night’s rest. The apartment is very quaint with high traditional high ceilings, original wood beams, and includes wall to wall carpeting in the bedrooms and wooden floors with area rugs in the entry and living area.
The small kitchen area includes electric burners, a stove, a small fridge, a washing machine, a toaster and other basic kitchen necessities. The kitchen has an opening so looks out directly into the living area.
The living room includes the sofa bed, a dining table with chairs, flat screen cable TV (CNN, BBC), side coffee table, and two armchairs. The large living room window looks out onto the street. The apartment has high speed internet cable access.
Closest metro stations are Les Halles (direct access to airports and Disneyland) and Louvre (direct access to Concorde, Champs Elysees and the Marais).
Area
This apartment is in the heart of the Paris - very close to Place des Victoires.- an excellent location to take advantage of Paris on foot and to discover some of the quaintest, fashionable and most historic quarters of the French capital. A two bedroom apartment in this area of town, at this price, is extremely rare, allowing a small group to enjoy the privacy of two bedrooms at a reasonable nightly rate per person.
Locals do all their shopping in the exciting Rue Montorgueil pedestrian street filled with bakeries, butcher, fruit, vegetable and cheese shops, cafés and grocery stores. You can do all of your shopping on this lively street, as well as enjoy one of the many outdoor cafés or restaurants.
Within ten minutes of the apartment you can be at the Louvre Museum, the Palais Royal and its gardens (great for kids), the early nineteenth century covered shopping galleries of Vivienne and Colbert and the chic shopping street Rue Saint Honoré and so much more. The Seine river, the islands and Notre Dame are all within easy reach on foot- around 10 to 15 minutes walk. In addition, the Marais and Latin Quarter are only 15 minutes away on foot, as is the Pompidou/Beaubourg Centre.
The closest Metro/Train station is Les Halles, which is direct to the airports as well as to the Disneyland Park.
