Description

Located in a traditional Parisian 18th century apartment building, this 25 square meter (275 square feet) studio offers good value due to its reasonable price with a comfortable floor plan and excellent central location. The apartment was re-done (new floors in 2004 and repainted in 2008).

The apartment includes a Queen size bed (firm mattress), a small sitting area (2 armchairs and side table with lamp), a small dining table with 2 chairs, cable TV and also internet cable access (with your PC you can plug into the modem for high speed internet), a functional and equipped small kitchen area (see Amenities section) and a small separate bathroom.

There is a cot that can be pulled out into a single bed for a smaller third person (no added charge for a third person given the apartment is small, a 3rd person makes it tight due to apartment size - best for a smaller child).

The apartment receives direct sunlight and cross ventilation: there are two windows, one facing the street and the other the back courtyard area. The street-side window has double glazing for comfort and security and the studio is located on a smaller yet central street in the heart of the Latin Quarter, between the Pantheon and Maubert Mutualité metro station. You can actually see one of the spires of Notre Dame from the front of the apartment, and can reach the city's main cathedral on foot in less than 10 minutes.

Area

The Latin Quarter is one of the oldest districts in Paris, and has been home of French higher education for over 700 years. The area is renown for its medieval sites and churches, its colorful market streets and traditional restaurants. For those wishing to visit much of historic Paris on foot, this apartment is ideal. At the end of the same street is the Pantheon, where Victor Hugo, Voltaire and many other French heroes are buried. A five minute walk from the apartment brings you to Notre Dame Cathedral and the islands of Ile de la Cité and Ile Saint Louis. The Sorbonne University, Luxembourg Gardens, the Cluny Medieval Museum see bleow photo) and the lively Maubert food market and Boulevards Saint Michel and Saint Germain are all just a 10 minute walk from the studio, and an additional 5 minutes of walking brings you to the Louvre Museum, the heart of the Saint Germain district (with its interior design and antique shops, restaurants and cafés), or in the Marais quarter. Not to be missed is the lively market street of Rue Moufftard just a few minutes away from the studio apartment.
