The building was commissioned by the owners' great-grandparents and the apartment has been in the family since it was built in 1891. It retains many of the original charming features, including a marble fireplace, gold gilt mirror, molded plaster ceiling, and parquet wood floors. Situated on the third floor (European 3rd floor), the apartment can be accessed by an elevator or the classic winding staircase. With a total of 66 sq meters and a practical floor plan, the apartment is spacious. The bedroom offers a queen-sized bed (160cm) and a floor to ceiling window onto the quiet courtyard. The living room can be closed off to create a second bedroom. It is furnished with a sofa couch that can comfortably sleep two while a roll away bed can be provided to accommodate a fifth person.The dining room has a bow window with the original stained-glass and a large table that is the perfect place to enjoy fine food from nearby markets or lay out maps to plot the next day’s adventures. The newly renovated kitchen is fully equipped and offers a spacious place to prepare food. The WC is separate from the bathroom which has been updated with a full-sized bathtub, washer, and dryer.

Centrally located on the left bank in the 5th arrondisement, this apartment is less than 15 minute walk from the cathedral of Notre Dame, a 15 minute walk from Jardin du Luxembourg, and less than 10 minute walk to the Pantheon. It is located directly across the street from the Arènes de Lutèce and two blocks from the Jardin des Plantes. Access to Place Monge metro stop is barely a block away while metro stops Cardinal Lemoine and Jussieu are a mere two blocks from the apartment.
The neighborhood is located on the edge of the bustling Latin Quarter and includes the historic rue Mouffetard and Place Contrescarpe. The apartment is on a quiet street in a safe, mostly residential area of the neighborhood. There are lots of cafés, bakeries, and grocery markets within just 3 to 4 minutes walk. Three days a week there is a marché (farmer’s market) at Place Monge. Daily there is a market on Rue Mouffetard.
This apartment is a good choice for people traveling with children. With a park directly across the street and another two blocks away, children can easily have needed breaks from the traditional tourist destinations. A direct metro line to all the major attractions makes sightseeing easy.
